4. PADDY MUSEUM (MUZIUM PADI)

Paddy museum is situated at Keriang Mountain (Gunung Keriang), 8km length from the city of Alor Setar, Kedah.

The building is designed to look like a bundle of paddy stalks. It consists of the main building and six other secondary building surrounding it.

The museum has three levels:

Level 1 : The visitors can have an insight into the history of paddy planting in Kedah. Besides, there is also having a Cambodia area at level 1.

Level 2 : This level has six galleries and exhibits drawings that depict the agricultural activities.

Level 3 : A mural which is 8 meters high and 103 meters length that shows the panoramic view of the traditional village and lush paddy fields can be watched at level 3 by climbing 59 steps. Visitors can feel that they have reached the peak of Keriang Mountain because they can be definitely enthralled by the panoramic view of the process of paddy planting from land preparation up to havesting in the form of mural and landscape.

Besides, there is also having souvenir shop at level 1.

3. BUNTING ISLAND - POST VISIT FEELING

This is a very beautiful island and natural. It actually consists a hill and surrounding by rock beach. Its natural hill view suits to have hill tracking activity. However, according to a local fisherman, there are many snakes at the hill. So, before any infrastructure being developed, it is not encourage to have hill tracking. There is a good location for us to develop it become a jungle tracking place. Its rock beach is also nice to become a picnic place. 2. BUNTING ISLAND BRIDGE (JAMBATAN PULAU BUNTING)

Bunting Island bridge is a new bridge that connects Bunting Island to mainland at Sedaka. The bridge is a 2.3 km long x 13.0m wide of sea crossing comprising of a 1.8 km long bridge, a 0.1 km long causeway connecting Pulau Bunting to the bridge and a 0.4 km long causeway connecting mainland Kedah to the bridge (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulau_Bunting_Bridge). However, there is no proper maintenance. It is a nice bridge and it seems a potential to become a tourism location in Yan, Kedah because it can be promoted together with a number of places in Yan like Murni Beach. These places can be linked together become one travel package like two day one night Yan travel package. Furthermore, a resort or home stay can be developed at Bunting Island or surrounding village to facilitate this type of package. 1. MURNI BEACH (PANTAI MURNI)

Yan is a major town and district in Kedah, Malaysia. Basically, Yan town consists of Small Yan town (Yan Kechil) and Big Yan town (Yan Besar). Yan can be reached from Guar Chempedak town. Guar Chempedak town is situated in the middle of Alor Setar and Sungai Petani. When arriving Guar Chempedak town’s cross junction traffic light, turn right (if from Alor Setar) or left (if from Sungai Petani), then just go straight around 14 KM. When arriving Big Yan Town, a signboard showing Murni Beach will be seen, turn right.
